John ventured from California to spend 4 weeks with us, gaining swine experience. John is interested in herd health, bio-security, and agribusiness. He plans to enter mixed-species practice.

Luciana Dominguez Joao

Federal University of Lavras, Img, Brazil

On her way to the World Veterinary Congress in Vancouver, Luciana spent 3 weeks with us gaining some swine practice experience. She is interested in swine diseases which cause demerit losses and condemnations at slaughter.  Luciana plans on returning to Brazil and pursuing a career in food quality and safety.

Sandra Barbosa Perez

University of Barcelona, Spain

Sandra spent 2 months with our practice in spring of 2008. She gained experience in all aspects of swine health and production.  She hopes to return to Spain and find employment in a swine veterinary practice.

Josh Lindenbach

Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, SK

Josh was the first WCVM Manitoba Swine Rotation student, and spent 2 weeks in Manitoba, spending time with us as well as touring some feed mills and slaughter plants. His primary interest is in Dairy and Swine practice.

Lex Obardyeyev

Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph, ON

Lex spent a few weeks with us as part of a Swine Internship from the Ontario Veterinary College.  Originally from the Ukraine, Lex has a keen interest in swine practice.

Marta Brugerra Bonfil

Autonomus University of Barcelona, Spain

Marta grew up on a hog farm in the Catalonia district of Spain.  In the 2 months she spent with us, she experienced all aspects of Canadian swine practice.  Currently, Marta is working in a swine practice in the Barcelona Province of Catalonia, Spain.

Rafaele Francio

University of Sorriso, Brazil

Rafaele's family owned hog farms in the Mato Grosso district of Brazil. She was interested in learning about the Canadian industry, and was able to experience many aspects of swine practice with us.

Angie Delks

Purdue University, Indiana

Angie Delks grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and developed an interest in swine practice while at University. Angie spent 6 weeks with us experiencing Canadian swine practice. She now works for a swine practice in Iowa.

Heather James

Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, SK

Originally from the Sunshine coast of British Columbia, Heather spent the summer on the prairies, getting a taste of swine practice. She was also involved with some research trial work within our practice, and won an award from the American Association of Swine Veterinarians for her work on the effect of iron dose in piglet performance.  Heather is currently in mixed practice in Humboldt, SK.

Lawrence Jacob

St. Hyacinthe, QC

Lawrence spent several weeks with us in the summer of 2004. With a broad knowledge of veterinary medicine, and having taught around the world in Agricultural colleges, Lawrence gained field experience in swine veterinary practice while with us. After graduating from University of Montreal Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lawrence spent 3 years in swine practice in Lethbridge, AB, and is now taking his Masters Degree at the University of Montreal.

Amy Woods

Purdue University, Indiana

A summer student with us in 2003, Amy already had a working knowledge of swine practice. She broadened her knowledge base with some Canadian swine veterinary experiences.  She is currently working in swine practice in Indiana.
