Animal Care Assessment
In today's information centric world, consumers don't only want to know where their meat comes from, but that the animal was treated well throughout its life. The Animal Care Assessment (ACA) Program allows Pork producers to demonstrate that they have been following the standards in the animal welfare codes of practice. Implementing the ACA program provides the proof to maintain market access domestically and internationally.
ACA covers topics such as Care of Animals, Employee Training, and Housing and Environment of the Animals. The program will be mandatory as of January 1, 2012.
